JACK JONES "THE JACK JONES CHRISTMAS ALBUM" (KAPP RECORDS 1964 KL 1399)

THIS RECORDING IS OOP AND PUBLIC DOMAIN, AND NO ONE HAS A RIGHT TO FILE A DMCA CLAIM FOR IT!!!

THIS WAS THE ALBUM THAT INTRODUCED ME TO CHRISTMAS MUSIC. MY DAD GOT THIS LP SOMEWHERE IN 1964 WHEN I WAS 8 YEARS OLD. I USED TO LISTEN TO IT A COUPLE OF TIMES EVERY WEEK FOR THE WHOLE MONTH OF DECEMBER BACK THEN. EVEN NOW 44 YEARS LATER I LISTEN TO IT ON MANY OCCASSIONS AT CHRISTMAS TIME. I'D HAVE TO SAY THAT IT REMAINS MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE CHRISTMAS LP IF FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN THE MEMORY RUSH I GET OF THOSE CHILDHOOD CHRISTMAS' EVERY TIME THE FIRST NOTES OF "SLEIGH RIDE" COME THROUGH MY SPEAKERS. TIME MOVES ON WAY TOO QUICKLY. JUST FOR A MOMENT THOUGH WHEN THIS LP STARTS TO PLAY IT IS 1964 ALL OVER AGAIN.

LINK TEMPORARILY REMOVED UNTIL COUNTER CLAIM IS FILED JACK JONES "THE JACK JONES CHRISTMAS ALBUM" REEL TO REEL VERSION ZIP FILE

UPDATE: IT'S BEEN POINTED OUT TO ME THAT THIS WAS NOT THE 1964 LP COVER OF THIS RECORDING. I'M GOING TO BE AT MY DAD'S ON THE 20TH, AND I'LL HAVE TO CHECK. I'M HOPING HE'LL LET ME BRING HOME ALL OF HIS CHRISTMAS LPs BECAUSE I'M MISSING SCANS OF ABOUT 95% OF THEM. HERE IS THE 1964 LP COVER OF THIS SAME RECORDING. NOW THAT I SEE IT I AM ALMOST CERTAIN THIS WAS THE COVER ON MY DAD'S LP. HOWEVER, I'M NOT 100% POSITIVE. I KNOW HIS LP IS MONO, AND THIS ONE SAYS STEREO:

Great post, Dave. I actually have this on reel-to-reel! The album I remember the most from my childhood was "Perry Como sings Merry Christmas Music". Chgristmas Eve at my Grandparents house would not be complete without it. It's still my favorite.

We always spent Christmas eve ay my Dad's parents. Then Christmas Day at my Mom's parents. I don't recall listening to any music. especially at my Mom's parents. She was one of 6 children, and there was always about 40 or 50 of us there that day all talking at once. We listened to music while we opened our gifts at home, but it was usually the Saturday night before Christmas since we were going to be out of town Christmas Eve & Day.

I remember from about the age of 7 though I started listening to my Dad's Christmas LPs all the time from Thanksgiving weekend on. We always put our tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I always made sure that Jack Jones, and the A&P Various aritist LPs were stacked on my Dad's stereo in the living room while the tree was being set up. My Dad still has his copy of this Jack Jones LP. It is pretty worn out by now though after 40+ years of Christmas' being played.
