Thank you so much!! I have been looking for these for along time. I was going to rip my two albums I have, but they are so badly scratched. Any chance of getting Volume 1 and 7?

Thanks for making christmas memories come true!!!!

I just recently got Volumes 1 and 7, but have not had a chance to rip them to my PC yet. Coming soon though.
Dave

PS - I also have the complete set of Goodyear LPs also (also not all ripped yet).

Ok. All 7 volumes are posted now.

Thanks so much for all of these, but it sure would be nice if you would tag them! Guess that's the price we pay ...

anonymous,
Not sure what you mean by "tag" them.

MP3s have what are called tags, which are the song title, album, composer, etc. Yours are not tagged so that when played in something like iTunes, there is no information about the track. There is tons of info on the internet about tagging, and lots of software to do it. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it!! Just do a google. What do you play these files with?

If you mean going into the "Properties" of an mp3 file, and filling out the Advanced information I know about that I just don't take the time to do it. It already takes me almost 3 hours to rip each LP, and edit the sound quality and volume as it is. If it is the "Properties" you mean then you can go in and edit that yourself once you download the file. I've done it to other peoples files before. I don't worry about iTunes because I refuse to use them after their free download sent me a corrupt file that crashed my PC for a week. I play all my mp3 files on WMP10.

Dave, Thank You so much for all 7 of the classic Firestone lp's, i had two as a kid, thry were my parents, and we played them every year, and always loved them..after a while they got so worn and scratched, that we couldn't play them anymore..guess i was to blame cuz as a kid i touched them way too much.I really have missed the Firestone LP'S for decades , and now thanks to you..this Christmas i will be able to play all 7!
Here is my Christmas in April!
THANK YOU , THANK YOU ,THANK YOU!

Thanks for posting these! We had volumes three and four when I was a kid, but they're long gone. This will be the perfect accompaniment to watching the old 8mm movies my sister just had put onto DVD. Keep up the great work!

We had the Goodyear sets when I was a child (Dad worked for Kelly-Springfield, a Goodyear subsidiary, and got them free or at reduced cost). I've just this last year started to try to put a set of the Firestone's together.

Frankly, I like the Goodyear sets a lot better, but the Firestones have some cool obscurities.

the links to the zip files do not work. Am I doing something wrong or is there something I don't know?

I had a problem with a "Troll" on all 3 of my blogs about 2 years ago. I have since had to move my sharing HERE.

You can go there, and register to join for free. Then make a post in the "Introduction" area about your user name that you just used here, and I will open the "Christmas Music Sharing" area for you to view.

Hi Dave, I know this is an old post, but is it possible for you to make the link for Vol. 1 available again this year? I sure hope so. Really enjoy the other 6 volumes. Gail

Sorry. I don't share here any longer. You'll have to go to my YUKU Forum, and join to get the shares. The link is on the top of the first page of all 3 of my Blogs. Just click on the Blog Heading Banner and it will take you to where thta link is.

Hey Dave,

Any chance that the Firestone albums' will be downloadable? It says they are all unavailable, and I was wondering if you would make them accessible once again. Thanks!

Bob

I'm going to try to re-share as much of the OOP recordings as I can, but right now I'm working on digitalizing some new Christmas reel to reel tapes I just bought.

Hello, I have found your blog after reading a comment in (the now defunct) Hooked on stereophonic.

These albums are all unknown to me, but they will be a great surprise for my (american) husband!
He won't believe his eyes and ears when I will (later) present them to him. Thank you so much to make these old gems available!

Glad I could help. Unfortunately a lot of great blogs are closing down as they are tired of having to fight the money grubbing so-called rights owner claims from people who know darn well that they don't own the rights to squat.

Hey Dave,
Thanks so much for these Firestone albums. We only had #5 when I was a kid, Dad picked it up when he put a new set of tires on our Pontiac. I always wanted the others in the set.
You are awesome, Thanks again.

Dave said...

You're welcome. I never even knew these records existed until around 2006 when I bought a lot set of Christmas LPs on ebay. I set out then to collect the whole series.

Enjoy!

Dear Dave,

I hop you're still monitoring this site. I tried to download Vol 2 and 3. It took me to the Megaload site and the download stalled a quarter of the way through. Then I tried going through the Yuku site, i joined, but could not find your blogs. Can you help?

Thanks to the US Government, Megaupload has been closed down, so I am denied a chance to add these to my computer. Let's hope that we can stop these SOPA-esque laws from stopping us from ripping music in the future.

This is why I stopped refreshing the links on my blogs. Stuff like this keeps on happening, and I am just not able to keep up with the idiots.

I am not sure if your blog is still working but thank you for the opportunity to hear some of the great Firestone series again. Brings back fond memories. Question is how to download your work or if you know a place where the downloads can be made. I cannot use vinyl to make a cd so purchase is not an option. I have found v6 and I have found some sites that offer the music but no downloads. You have the only one that has downloads, but they do not appear to work. Your help would be appreciated.
Merry Christmas
Hevan

Dave, I've been in search of the Firestone presents Christmas music. It was something my wife had growing up and I really wanted to surprise her. Is there anyway???
